| The
Department of Theater and Dance is
housed in Bliss Hall, a four-story fine-arts center built in
1976, and recently enlarged and modernized. In addition to
department offices, classrooms, studios and conference rooms,
it contains complete production and performance facilities to
support our theater degree programs, including Ford
Theater (our 400 seat proscenium stage), the flexible capacity
Spotlight Arena Theater, a lab theater/rehearsal room, a theater design
room, a film screening room, and a television production studio
affiliated with PBS channels 45/49 in Northeastern Ohio.
Also located in Bliss Hall are our
fully equipped scene and costume shops, makeup and dressing
rooms, green room, computerized box office, and front-of-house
facilities.
Bliss Hall also contains the
Department of Art, the Department of Communication and the Nationally-recognized Dana School of
Music. In this setting, theater students find themselves in
daily contact with a critical mass of creative people,
representing virtually all of the fine and performing arts. |
