HX Credit Card

A student who receives a Credit Card from having called the show with a legitimate homework question will be able to present it to his/her math/science teacher for extra credit.

*   Each card contains a validation code.  If a teacher suspects a card's authenticity, he/she may verify it by calling Homework Express producers.

*   Each card specifically states that teacher participation in the Credit Card program may vary.  No teacher is obligated to participate.

*   Individual teachers are free to determine how much extra credit a Credit Card is worth.

*   For the teacher, the Credit Card program has the additional benefit of having exposed his/her students to supplemental participatory instruction in math/science.

*   Credit Card redemption is not limited to science/math.  For example, an English teacher might want to offer extra credit for students who participate in Homework Express.

 *   Teachers may destroy redeemed Credit Cards.

*   The Credit Card project is being announced over the air during Homework Express, through news releases to the media, and through LiveLine.  No other reliable method of communication to teachers is available to Homework Express producers.

*   The Credit Card was developed over the past year by teachers in the Homework Express project.
