Biography of Professor Phil Chan

Phillip Chan, originally a painter by trade, has reinvented himself as a typographer. Type faces have become his medium, presenting letterforms as structures able to evoke emotion.

In addition to relating type faces to life, Professor Chan also teaches a sensitivity to organizing space within graphic design means. His most recent expanding series, "Fallen Angels," displays neither his expertise in typography nor graphic design, but his passion for painting and drawing.
